Buñol - La Tomatina

We went to Buñol, near Valencia for La Tomatina. 130,000 kilos of over-ripe tomatoes are thrown. Here is a selection of photos from our waterproof camera.
CRAZY!!

Valencia

We travelled from Madrid to Spain's third largest city, Valencia.

The one and only, Shemadavid came to visit for a few days.

We travelled to the future.

Well, the Arts and Science Centre.

We arrived a bit late, so only had an hour and a half to leg-it round and fiddle with as much equipment as possible. Disregarding anything that required too much reading, learning or reminded us of boring things from school.

As luck would have it, there was a Marvel Comics exhibition on too. Double win!

Astonishingly, we were only told off once. Staff told ShemaDavid he was "a very bad boy".

We also went to the park, the beach, IVAM (modern art), the market, drinking around Barrio de Carmen - but don't seem to have many pictures. Oops!

Casavieja

August bank holiday weekend - we had some special visitors!

We stayed at Mario's parents holiday home in Casavieja.

We barbecued a load of meat and drank our body weight in tinto verano in the mountains.

We frumped it, or lumped it - some more than others.

It was also Casavieja's fiesta for San Bartolome - so we went into town to join the party.

Peggy Sue.

Mike Entered the Dragon...

...and shortly afterwards found Christ. Amen.

Vilagarcia - Fiesta del Agua

We made a day trip from Vigo to nearby Vilagarcia as the town celebrated San Roque, the saint of the city. The celebrations go on for two weeks but we decided to go on the day they have a big water fight. Below is a selection from our waterproof camera, as with most Spanish fiestas it was a bit crazy!

Thousands turned up.

The guy on the balcony was loving throwing buckets of water over everyone.

A nice blue ceramic tiled church.

Igreja de Santo Ildefonso.

Views from Dom Luis bridge.

A doily tree for Zara Lee.

Cockburn's port house tasting room.

Cable car journey back up to the top (highly recommended, after a days worth of tastings).
